Frequently Asked Questions

Pickup and Drop Off

Whether you book a Day Adventure (9am–2pm) or an Afternoon Adventure (3pm–6pm), your child’s coach will handle pick-up and drop-off from your chosen location

We can collect your child from: home or school (perfect for afternoon sessions)

Simply enter your pick-up and drop-off details in the registration form below

Your child’s safety, comfort, and confidence are our top priorities. If you’re new to the program — or your child needs a little extra reassurance — we’re happy to organise a meet-and-greet at your home before their first adventure. This helps them build trust with their coach and start their journey feeling excited and secure

Our personalised adventures are suitable for children from 7-14 years

This is an NDIS funded and NDIS specific service! You can utilise your Core or Capacity funding

Build Your Adventure (BYA) Support Care is a personalised mentoring and life-skills program designed for children and teens who thrive best through real-world experiences — not classrooms or clinics

Instead of traditional support services, we use adventure as the vehicle for growth. Each session is 1:1 with a dedicated Adventure Coach and focuses on building confidence, independence, social connection, and resilience through fun challenges, problem-solving, movement, and outdoor exploration

Whether it’s a mountain hike, beach challenge, scavenger hunt, or community outing — BYA is where personal development happens beyond four walls.

It’s not just care. It’s support with purpose, growth, and unforgettable experiences.

A BYA Coach is more than a support worker — they’re a mentor, role model, and adventure guide. Each coach is carefully selected and trained to support children and teens through real-world experiences, not just supervision

Our coaches specialise in:

*Building confidence and social skills

*Creating safe, personalised adventures

*Encouraging independence and resilience

*Connecting through fun, movement, and challenge

Every BYA Coach works 1:1 with their participant, forming a trusted relationship so your child feels supported, understood, and inspired to grow. They’re the kind of mentor every young person deserves — patient, energetic, and deeply invested in their personal development

Great question. For us helping participants feel safe and welcome is our highest priority. There are a few things we do, to make sure every new participant feels comfortable and confident before their first adventure!

Meet your coach early: You’ll receive a short video introduction from your coach so you can see who they are and get a feel for their personality

Optional meet and greet: We can also arrange a relaxed meet-and-greet at your home before the first pickup or adventure. This helps build familiarity and trust so your child feels completely at ease when it’s time to go exploring

Our goal is to make the first adventure as smooth, fun, and comfortable as possible for both participants and families

Group adventures give young people the chance to build confidence with others, not just alongside a coach. While every child has their own 1:1 coach for safety and support, they come together in small groups to experience:

*Real social interaction – practising conversation, teamwork, turn-taking and friendship in natural environments.

*Safe challenge – learning how to navigate group dynamics, solve problems, and step outside comfort zones with support close by.

*Belonging & community – many kids struggling with confidence or anxiety have never truly felt part of a group. Our adventures create moments of inclusion, laughter, and shared success.

It’s not just about fun — it’s about preparing kids for real life. Group adventures build the essential life skills (that can’t be taught in a room): resilience, communication, empathy, leadership and trust

Our adventures are designed to challenge, inspire and grow kids through real-world experiences. Each day is different, but here are some popular examples:

  • 🏞 Creek & Bush Explorations — hiking, rock hopping, campfire building, mindfulness in nature

  • 🏖 Beach & Water Days — beach volleyball, surf awareness, sand challenges, team games

  • 🛒 Shop & Cook Missions — grocery shopping and cooking a meal as a team

  • 🗺 Scavenger Hunts — problem-solving, teamwork and navigation challenges

  • 🧗 Mountain Missions — climbing local peaks like Mt Coolum or Mt Ninderry

  • 🧊 Resilience Days — breathwork, ice baths and mindset challenges

  • 🏐 Team Sports Days — friendly games like dodgeball, t-ball, soccer and capture the flag to build teamwork, communication and confidence

Every adventure is tailored to the group’s age, ability and goals — combining fun with life skills, confidence and connection

Our group adventures typically run for 3–5 hours and include personal pick-up and drop-off by your child’s dedicated coach.

We service and support the Sunshine Coast, we can pick up and drop off your child
